Roughly 10 minutes ago, I walked on the deck to smoke. As I smoked I pondered individual perspectives. Everyone has a unique perspective and everyone's perspective is valid and true. Everyone has opinions and everyone's opinions are valid but I don't think everyone's opinions are true. We could argue semantics and definitions but you get the gist.
I realized perspectives were influenced and related to each other. Not directly, not perfectly, and not absolutely definable. The thought occurred to me that on Earth, in our parallel universe (if there are multiple, traditional parallel universes), our perspectives form multiple parallel universes of reality. Personally, celebrities are not influential but for some people celebrities are influential. My perspective of reality is skewed by not recognizing the power of celebrity as much as my counterparts' perspectives of reality are skewed by recognizing the power of celebrity. We live in parallel universes wherein the same physical actions occur but our perspectives of those actions are different, which lead to a domino effect of alternate endings. Many things (racism, sexism, classism etc...) lead to parallel universes in this manner.
I stared at nothing, in awe, for the last minutes of smoking my cigarette due to this revelation then walked to the ashtray to put my cigarette out. As I walked back to the door, I noticed a butterfly on the deck's surface. It was barely moving as if it was struggling to stay alive. I wondered if I inadvertently stepped on it during my shock. I think my parallel universe and the butterfly's parallel universe collided.
